Similar to my previous release, Commute, which was an exercise in revisiting a past experience, the Anniversary ep is an exercise in revisiting a moment of time. Parts of my wedding were documented with field recordings. This included pre-ceremony unpacking / chatter / music, post-ceremony celebration / music, and a hike up a mountain. This material became the album's skeleton. The guitar and French Horn were exstracted from the original field recordings. I decided to honor the original rural... With "Grey Surfaces" Tim Dwyer, the person behind Off Land, is back on Resting Bell with another beautiful release. The release contains five new compositions by Off Land and two remixes, done by Placement and Ennio Mazzon. Compared to his last release "Encounter Point" "Grey Surfaces" is much more reduced, compact and monolithic. Each track has a kind of deep fundamental droning with field-recording fragments, shifting melodies and glitches in addtion to it all.... Let's go back to 2006. I used to hate my job, the dead-end brainless work. Even more, I used to hate my commute. An hour by subway what would take 20 minutes by car if I had owned one. Everyday I walked to the subway, switching lines in town and took a 2nd line to the end. I dreamed that one day the subway would take me past the last stop, just keep going. Or maybe I would end up somewhere else, somewhere new. Music was my salvation, my soundtrack, those two hours each day. With or without... Off Land is an ambient project by Tim Dwyer. With ambient textures, little field recording snippets, spoken word phrases and classical instruments, Off Land takes place in the space between minimal, ambient and contemporary classical music. With 8 pieces and 75 minutes duration, "Encounter Point" is a monumental ambient work. All pieces are arranged very carefully and with a great sense for intensity and tension. The single tracks seem quite minimal and pure on the surface, but when... Topics: Off Land, Encounter Point, Ambient, Minimal, Experimental

Terminal Window is a music project from FSOLBoard, a community of Future Sound of London fans on the internet. Artists on the board were invited to contribute tracks and collaborations to the album, given nothing but the title Terminal Window. The final record holds together incredibly well as an individual album, merging ambient breaks from the likes of Loose Link and Noisesurfer with more traditional ambience of Off Land and cubus, and more experimental sounds from Herd and Full-Source. This... Topics: fsol, future sound of london, cubus, second thought, noisesurfer, off land, full-source, herd,...
